Hunter (Heraldik xx x Alcatraz x Lord) is a 1999 imported black 17.1+h Holsteiner stallion. Hunter is approved for breeding by both the German Holsteiner Verband and the American Holsteiner Horse Association (AHHA). His pedigree is 71% Thoroughbred tracing back to Cottage Son, Anblick and Ladykiller, all known for producing top sport offspring. Hunter is from the well known performance mare line, stamm 3317. Hunter’s grand-dam, Atlanta X, is a full sister to the outstanding stallion, Lord Liberty, who only stood at stud for four years, but whose offspring have amassed winnings exceeding $2.3 million.

PictureHappenstance, one of Hunter's many successful offspring
Hunter's sire is the world famous German Holsteiner Verband approved thoroughbred stallion, Heraldik xx. Heraldik is the grandsire of WEG Eventing Gold Medalist La Biosthetique Sam. Heraldik is also the sire of two horses from the 2008 German Gold Medal Eventing Hong Kong Olympic team, Abraxas and Butts Leon. Four star eventer Happy Times is also sired by this amazing stallion. And showing his versatility, Heraldik is also the sire of the Grand Prix dressage stallion, H-Ekwador. In 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 Heraldik was the #1 sire of Event Horses worldwide according to the WBFSH.

Hunter shows his outstanding character, incredible jumping aptitude, and correct conformation in his offspring. He has been successfully campaigned by his amateur owner and is a delight both in the saddle and on the ground. Hunter was ranked #26 on the 2011 USEF list of Eventing Sires and in 2012 he finished the year ranked #19. During the first half of 2013 Hunter was ranked 2nd or 3rd on the USEF ranking of Eventing Sires completing the year ranked #5.  At the end of the 2014 competition season Hunter ranked 4th on the list of USEF Eventing Sires however the first 3 stallions in the ranking all bred only in Europe so Hunter remained the top eventing sire domiciled in the USA.   Quite an accomplishment given that he had only four offspring competing.

In 2015 Hunter was ranked # 84 on the WBFSH worldwide list of Eventing Sires.  He is the only US based warmblood to be ranked on the list.  In the USEF Eventing Sire Rankings for 2015 Hunter is the #2 US-based sire (overall ranking #3) with only 4 offspring competing.
